Are all the fabrics you offer shown online?

Unfortunately we can't show all of our fabrics online, as there are simply too many. Please visit a showroom to explore our fabric libraries or contact our customer service team for more information.

Can I order free fabric swatches before ordering?

Yes, absolutely. You can order up to 8 fabric samples completely free of charge. Explore our furniture fabrics or fabric by the metre.

Can I upholster in my own fabric?

All of our handmade sofas, chairs, footstools and beds can be upholstered in any suitable upholstery fabric of your choice. Please visit your local showroom or contact our customer service team for more information.

What fabrics do you sell by the metre?

We offer the great majority of our exclusive fabrics by the metre. This includes our collections designed in collaboration with the V&A and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). It also includes other collections and fabric designs that are exclusive to Sofas & Stuff, you won’t find these prints elsewhere, creating a space that is as unique as you and your family. The majority of these are linen blend or cotton blend fabrics, which are printed to order here in Britain. View our fabric by metre here

Is there a maximum roll length?

We can provide up to 40 metres on a single bolt. However, for orders exceeding 10 metres, there may be roll splits. For quantities over 10 metres, it's advisable to request a quote from us. We will check stock levels and discuss potential roll splits or arrange a new fabric order to ensure you receive it on a continuous roll if needed.

How do I care for the fabric?

Care instructions will vary depending on the type of fabric. General care instructions are provided on each product page. However, we recommend that our fabrics are DRY CLEANED ONLY to maintain their best appearance. For specific advice, contact our customer support team.

Do you have guides to choosing and measuring fabrics for soft furnishing projects?

Yes, we have the following guide, Measuring guide. However our most important advice is to seek the help of a professional curtain or blind maker, or upholsterer for your particular project as requirements will vary according to the specific fabric design and pattern repeat, and the particular design details of your project.

What is a pattern repeat?

A pattern repeat is the distance between identical points in a fabric's design. When joining widths of patterned fabric or wallpaper, you need to allow extra material to match the pattern seamlessly. A vertical repeat ensures that the pattern aligns perfectly across each piece of fabric, as the design is positioned at the same place along each selvedge edge.

What is the Martindale Rub Test?

The Martindale Rub Test measures a fabric's durability by simulating wear and tear through repeated rubbing. It indicates how well the fabric can withstand regular use. You will find rub test information about each fabric within the product description.

Is there a minimum order quantity for fabrics?

The minimum order quantity is two metres, and you can increase your order in one metre increments.

Where do you ship fabric orders to?

What is the cost of shipping?

How long will it take to receive my fabric order?

Information about lead time can be found on the individual fabric product description page. Your local showroom will keep you up to date on the progress of your fabric order. If you have any questions about your order, please contact your your nearest showroom.

Can I return or exchange the fabric?

As the fabrics are printed and/or cut to order, we cannot accept returns and exchanges of fabrics purchased by the metre, unless they are faulty.

What should I do if I receive a damaged or incorrect order?

If you receive a damaged or incorrect order, please contact our head office on 01798 300353 Option 2 or email [email protected] within 7 days of receiving your order. We will arrange for a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.
