A final film celebrating the people, craft and moments behind The Making, our collaboration with the Royal Ballet and Opera.
Sofas & Stuff and the Royal Ballet and Opera are united by a shared belief in extraordinary craft: the discipline, imagination and skilled hands behind work made to move people.
Before anything extraordinary is seen, it is made.
Across The Making, our collaboration with the Royal Ballet and Opera has explored the work behind the finished moment: the rehearsal, the making, the risk, the repetition, the imagination and the many hands that bring an idea to life.
Curtain Call brings those voices and moments together. From the Sofas & Stuff workshop to the stages and spaces of the Royal Ballet and Opera, it is a celebration of the performers, makers, artists and creative contributors behind the work.
Every performance, every piece of furniture and every shared experience depends on people: their skill, instinct, patience and willingness to keep going until something feels right.
For The Making, that has meant dancers, singers, craftspeople, designers, makers, photographers, filmmakers, hosts and guests, each bringing their own part to the story.
In the Paul Hamlyn Hall, our pop-up installation brought together the Carmen-inspired sofa, films and interviews from The Making, and Florence Sweryda's extraordinary model box theatre.
The installation also formed part of a celebratory evening at the Royal Opera House, where guests explored the work before watching The Marriage of Figaro.
At Skye McAlpine's home, friends gathered for supper in the kitchen, accompanied by a special live performance from artists of the Royal Ballet and Opera's Jette Parker Artists Programme.
On The Library, we explore an evening of opera, conversation and the art of gathering at home.

We are releasing a run of limited edition postcards in celebration of our partnership. Request yours...
